In the Beginning

Ever since I started to shoot, I’ve always dreamed of being one of the best in the country and maybe even in the world. Shooting is not just intended for guys though it is known to be a masculine sport but girls can also be tough in playing such games.

During the first few months of playing, I’ll always get excited since it is indeed interesting and most especially I’ll be able to go to different places and have a short tour in that certain place which depends upon the club to where it will be held.

As I start to play, I’m still very slow like I’m just walking and my mother even teases me that it’s not a pageant but a game. So I keep on practicing my movements and do it my best. But before I practiced more on my speed, I practiced hard on my accuracy for what’s the use of being so fast but then I didn’t even hit the targets, right?! Fortunately, with perseverance, I have improved my movements and on the track in practicing my speed.

Here’s one video clip of a Level-I Sanctioned Match at Northern Mindanao Practical Shooting Association (NMPSA). I was still beginning to learn at this time. I hope you’ll appreciate it. :)

Practical Shooting is the fastest growing shooting sport in the world to date. Combining the elements of Speed, Power, and Accuracy, it is a venue that seeks to develop and test an individual's shooting skills in a controlled sporting environment. Practical shooting matches are realistic, diverse and fun, mixing props such as barricades, doors, shooting ports, tunnels and other everyday objects with full or partially exposed targets, moving targets, penalty-carrying no-shoot targets and steel reactive targets to test the skills and techniques of the practical shooting competitor.
