Worst Experience Ever!

Worst Experience Ever!

Last year, I was able to join a Level-III Sanctioned Match at Patag Firing Range. It was a great opportunity but it was the worst experience.

Since it was held from Thursday to Saturday, we decided that I’m going to be absent from my class on the afternoon of Friday. When we arrived at the range, I was really nervous since it is Level-III, shooters all over the Philippines are going to be there and I’m going to encounter new Range Officers and challenging stages. There were 12 stages prepared in this game. As usual, I started at a stage where it is just a short course so my nervousness would be gone and I can play right. At the 2nd stage, my performance was still alright. Then the 3rd stage came where I encountered my first running man. I was really afraid I might not hit that since it was my first time to have that. I still went on with it. After having my walk through, I rested for a while and waited for my turn. It has been my habit to hold my magazines while running for in my mind, they might fall but for my father, I shouldn’t hold it since it looks bad. Then came my turn. I was from the left and I was running going to the right for the first time, I didn’t hold on to my magazines and it felt so good running and swaying my hand but then I was shocked when the range officer said “STOP!”. It means there’s something wrong. He said I swiped my hand in the muzzle of the gun which was not safe so he declared that I’ll be disqualified from the game. As I knew that, I really got disappointed and I cried so hard. I only played 3 out of 12. I can’t finish it already. It was depressing.

As I went to my Range Officer friends, they told me not to get discouraged and just continue playing since this is part of the game.

SHOOTING??

Practical Shooting is the fastest growing shooting sport in the world to date. Combining the elements of Speed, Power, and Accuracy, it is a venue that seeks to develop and test an individual's shooting skills in a controlled sporting environment. Practical shooting matches are realistic, diverse and fun, mixing props such as barricades, doors, shooting ports, tunnels and other everyday objects with full or partially exposed targets, moving targets, penalty-carrying no-shoot targets and steel reactive targets to test the skills and techniques of the practical shooting competitor.
